Recent and long-standing conversations about development in Atlanta drive home what we know to be true: there is an unacceptable level of institutional and systemic inequality in Atlanta across many sectors. This statement is an important first step to acknowledging Murmur's responsibilities and role in this. We are a community resource for DIY and ephemeral media. Our success in this mission rests on our accessibility and inclusivity. Our efforts here can be improved in many ways. Firstly, we feel that transparency is essential to our progress. Murmur must also make concerted, responsible, and intersectional efforts to support people of color throughout Atlanta.

Implementing these changes at Murmur must be multi-faceted across our leadership, programming, and outreach/engagement. Murmur makes a firm stance in support of this belated change and growth within our organization. We are committed to creating internal and front-facing initiatives to enhance our leadership and our programming. We thank those who have spoken out and accelerated these conversations. Lastly, we look forward to continuing this work on a deep, significant, and unending level. We invite all others to join us to meet this goal. For any questions or concerns, please email us at

Our events, workshops, zine library, and the annual
Atlanta Zine Fest couldn't happen without your support.
